Living Life

Jesus, Me, and the Kitchen Table

This blog is dedicated to helping others through sharing my stories of trials, triumphs, and faith.  Life changed drastically for me and my husband on Jan. 7, 2013.  I came home from work and quickly gathered our two girls, Emmarie age 7 and Chloe age 5.  Off to dance class we went.  Richard stayed home to cook supper.  On the way home while waiting to turn left off of the highway near our house, we were rear-ended at 70 miles per hour.A that intersection of Highway 49 and County Road 4231 is where they met Jesus.  And it is where I became a paraplegic, paralyzed from chest down.  I have movement of my arms and neck, and some but very little trunk control.

I spent 2 weeks in ICU and also had surgery to repair my broken neck and back.  After my stay at the hospital I was transferred to Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation where I stayed for 2 moths.

Living life without my angels has been hard to say the least. Being paralyzed and unable to do so many of the routine things we all take for granted has been trying, to say the least.  I’m able to drive and work some.  But life has to be lived one day at a time. I never know how I will feel physically, how much energy I will have, etc.

Richard has been awesome toe ay the least.  He is so much more than a caregiver and a husband. He’s God’s gift to me to encourage and be the spiritual leader of our household.

A week after the wreck we were set to have the first church service of our new church, Global Harvest Fellowship.  Needless to say, that is still in the works!

I can honestly say that it is God who gets us through these times.  And He will be the focal point of many of my blog posts.  We live to bring honor and glory to Him.  And we believe for divine healing and have faith that one day I will walk again – on this earth.

I’ve been following your story via caringbridge since shortly after the accident. You have been such an inspiration and I look forward to each entry as you continue to share God’s grace through each trial and as you face each day. I pray for you each day and will continue to do so. Blessings!
